Services

Stansted Veterinary Specialists provides Specialist led care for cats and dogs across a range of disciplines. The team taking care of your pet have been working in their fields for many years, gaining experience and recognition in the form of qualifications and awards.

In some cases the need for a particular Specialist is clear and isolated to one discipline. In other cases this may not be clear or a multidisciplinary approach is required. Regardless of who you are first referred to in the team, the whole team will work together to make sure we deliver the best outcome that we can.

Anaesthesia and Analgesia

Many dogs and cats receiving veterinary care require pain relief or anaesthesia as part of their care. We have specialists in this field to make sure this is done in the safest and most effective manner possible.

Cardiology

Dogs and cats can get heart problems at any stage of their life. Our specialist cardiologist will help to diagnose these problems and advise you on their treatment, which could be through regular monitoring, medication, or

interventional and surgical procedures.

Diagnostic Imaging

Radiology is a cornerstone of the integrated, specialist-led care at SVS. Our specialist in diagnostic imaging offers immediate expert interpretation and advanced on-site imaging using state-of-the-art equipment including CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and digital radiography. Working closely with all other clinicians, the radiologist delivers responsive, tailored diagnostics and image-guided procedures, supporting rapid, accurate decision-making across all services. This collaborative and multidisciplinary approach ensures each patient benefits from the highest standard of veterinary care.

Internal Medicine

Internal medicine manages a wide array of problems, including vomiting and diarrhoea, weight loss, breathing problems, hormonal issues and kidney disease. We are also one of the few facilities in the UK to offer radioiodine therapy for hyperthyroid cats.

Radioiodine Therapy

Radioiodine therapy is the most effective treatment for cats with hyperthyroidism, a common hormonal problem that can be encountered as they age. We are one of a few centres in the UK with the appropriate facilities for this one-time life changing and curative therapy that negates the need for long-term medical management.

Soft Tissue Surgery

Soft tissue surgery covers a range of surgical treatments from helping with breathing problems to removing cancers or operating on trauma patients. Whatever the nature of the problem, our team of surgical specialists are ready to advise you and treat your pet.
