Ricardo Felisberto
DVM DipECVAA MRCVS
RCVS and EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia
Ricardo graduated from the University Lusofona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, Lisbon Portugal in 2013. He spent five years in a small animal oncology referral practice in Lisbon where he developed a passion for anaesthesia and analgesia. After multiple visits to the anaesthesia department of the small animal hospital at Glasgow, Ricardo then embarked on an anaesthesia and analgesia internship at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists in 2018.
Following his internship, his intention to become an anaesthesia and analgesia specialist grew further and he embarked on a European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia residency, to become a board-certified veterinary anaesthesiologist in 2023.
Ricardo enjoys every aspect of anaesthesia and analgesia in all animal species, but he has a particular interest in locoregional anaesthesia techniques which help provide the best possible care to patients undergoing invasive procedures, and advanced monitoring modalities which ensure a safe anaesthesia to every animal.
Outside of work, Ricardo enjoys going to the gym, swimming, cycling and hiking. Being active and keeping himself busy helps provide a balance between his professional and personal life, representing how important are both mental and physical health to him.
