Veterinary Radiographer

Veterinary Radiographer

Stansted Veterinary Specialists is a new, independent, multi-disciplinary, small animal referral centre that opened in August 2025, located less than one mile from London Stansted Airport with excellent transport links to London and Cambridge.

We are proudly independent, owned exclusively by the clinical team working within the hospital. This allows us to focus entirely on delivering outstanding patient care while maintaining a supportive, collaborative working environment for our staff. Our philosophy places pets and people at the heart of everything we do, fostering a culture where clinical excellence, teamwork, and wellbeing are equally valued.

The Role

Stansted Veterinary Specialists (SVS) is a brand-new, state-of-the-art small animal referral centre dedicated to providing world-class care to dogs and cats. We’re looking for a motivated Veterinary Radiographer to join our friendly, multi-disciplinary team.

About the Role:
As part of our specialist diagnostic imaging service, you will work alongside a European Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, other board-eligible radiologists, and a highly-skilled support team. This role offers the opportunity to use cutting-edge technology daily, including:
- Philips 64-Slice Incisive CT
- 1.5T Canon MRI
- Philips Zenition 70 fluoroscopy
- Direct Digital Radiography
- Philips EPIQ Elite ultrasound

We are looking for a full-time radiologist who will be available to work 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. The daily working pattern will alternate between early and late shifts that are shared with our existing radiographer (scheduled between the hours of 8.30am and 6.30pm). In addition there will be a commitment to 1-in-4 on-call duties both at weekends (8am-8pm) and weekday out of hours (6-8pm).

Part-time applicants will still be considered on a case by case basis according to availability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform image acquisition across X-ray, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy (with occasional support in ultrasound).
- Ensure image optimisation and quality control in CT and MRI.
- Coordinate the daily imaging service and booking schedule.
- Oversee maintenance and servicing of all imaging equipment.
- Take responsibility for radiation safety and dosimeter distribution, with potential progression to Radiation Protection Supervisor.
- Assist with cleaning, organisation, and stocking of imaging rooms.
- Support patient handling and restraint in a safe and compassionate manner.

About You:
- You will have prior experience working as a radiographer in a specialist veterinary hospital setting, though additional training can be provided.
- You will be a friendly and communicative team player who can also work independently.
- You will be organised, efficient, and proactive, with a genuine passion for patient care.
